In support of our Prayer Director who is valiantly fighting a battle with breast cancer, I rode with an all female group today. It was escorted by officers who took us through the county and into West Memphis, Ark. There were approximately 200 women on motorcycles raising money and showing support for the loved ones in our families.
We are pleased to announce the role of Treasurer has been filled. Mrs. Linda McClora Harvey has accepted the role and we are thrilled! Linda serves locally as the Cordova High School Vice Principal. She works closely with the children and parents, seeing the tough relational challenges in the family. We believe she brings a fresh "front-line" perspective to the Board. Please join us in welcoming her to the position with Almost Home Retreat.
We've just received a referral for a 12 year old girl who was allegedly trafficked by her mother. We've had contact with the father (divorced family), who has experienced another trauma with this daughter and has left him heart broken. We're meeting with the public defender for her case at juvenile court. Our goal is to see if we can bring the art program to these young girls who've been sex trafficked in the Memphis area.
